Last week I started a tweaked version of the C25K plan. (http://c25k.com/)
Since it's dark when I walk/jog (4:30 am) I figured it would just be a hassle to time myself on a watch, so I started to count my steps. I counted every time my right foot hit the pavement. Last week I went for a 60/30 plan. That is, 60 steps walking, 30 steps jogging. I know that to some people that may seem like nothing, but considering I'm a guy that weighs about 70 pounds more than I should (more if you believe the BMI scale), it takes a lot to even walk that far, let alone jog. I repeat the 60/30 steps for the 20 minute mile that it takes me to get to the fitness center, three days a week.
My goal is to drop ten steps from walking every week and add them to the joggin part, so this week I am doing 50/40.
I figure in about five weeks, I should be able to jog almost 100% of the time.
Then, I may start running.
But let's get get ahead of ourselves.
