Life Before:
- Wake up at 5:00
- A Super Sized Combo Meal at Carl's Jr. - with Dr. Pepper - for breakfast
- At about 9:00, I would go to the machine and get a package of Zingers
- KFC Double Down combo for lunch (with another D.P. to keep me awake)
- At about 2:00, I would wolf down an entire Hershey's bar (needed sugar to keep me awake)
- Dinner was healthy, but I would load up my plate
Life Now:
- Wake up at 4:20 am and go jogging.
- Arrive at gym at 5:00 and lift weights
- 400 Calorie Breakfast Burrito (eggs, mushrooms, zucchini*, salsa)
- Not really hungry betwen breakfast and lunch, but will eat a fruit if I am
- A turkey sandwich on a whole wheat pita, with lettuce, tomato and a little onion
- If I'm hungry in the afternoon, I will have a handful of sunflower seeds or nuts
- Small portion of dinner
So, I get up 40 minutes earlier and work my tail off, and yet I'm not tired. (I am worn out from exercise, but not tired.) I don't drink caffeine anymore. I don't eat sugary snacks during the week. (Saturday is my "cheat" day.) And yet, I have more energy than I have ever had.
I eat a reasonable breakfast , lunch & dinner, and yet I'm not starving, counting down the minutes until the next meal.
How can this be?
* The fact that I am eating zucchini on purpose says enough of my change.
